Old Cassano - murgia, history and pre-history

Learn about the most mysterious and wildest elements in the Murgia Cassanese area along this challenging trekking route.

The tour starts visiting the crypt-cave in the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli of Cassano Murge, and continues through ancient country lanes, hidden often by erbs and plants, discovering caves, farms and ancient settlements. The tour ends at Masseria Ruotolo, final destination of this fascinating journey into the past.

PROGRAMME

09.00 am Randez-vous in front of the Church of S.M. degli Angeli with guides, presentation of the Ruotolo staff

09.15 am Begin of the tour with these stops: Sanctuary-Church of S.M. degli Angeli; Cave of Nisco; Cave of the wolf; Water tack of Santiquando;  Cave of the robbers; Masseria Santoro; Masseria di Cristo; Cave of Christ; Masseria Ruotolo

2:00 pm Traditional set lunch (drinks included)  

4:00 pm Open-air activity: horse riding / archery
